Vietnamese-French opera singer takes pride in wearing ‘ao dai’

Born in Vietnam, Badillo was adopted and grew up in France. She thought that she was very ‘French’ before she returned to Vietnam for the first time. After three times of coming back to her homeland, she met her biological mother and felt that she belongs to Vietnam, especially when she dons ao dai . Her Vietnamese name is Bao Ngoc. Badillo recounted that she was adopted by a married couple who could not have a child when she was five months old. The couple traveled to Vietnam to pursue dentistry when they decided to adopt a child. Her biological mother could not afford to raise her, thereby sending her to a local orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City. “I smiled at my adoptive mother when I first met her, so she was so touched,” she said, adding that her mother told her that story. “I knew that I was an adopted child when I was young. My parents often told me about Vietnam, took me to a Vietnamese restaurant each week, and allowed me to join Vietnamese festivals such as Tet in France.” ...

The Photo Exhibition that was opened to the public at Bach Dang Park on Phu Quoc Island in Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam, on Tuesday, brought a visual feast to domestic and international visitors. Vietnamese star fighter to attend int’l championship in Vietnam next year

The 2023 MTGP Vietnam Championship is the first tournament to be organized by the Muay Thai Grand Prix (MTGP) in Vietnam, featuring top Vietnamese and international Muay Thai fighters. The MTGP is the organizer of professional events of Muay Thai, a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques, at the highest level in the world. Over the past 10 years, the MTGP has organized more than 50 live events in 15 countries, creating development opportunities for many Muay, kickboxing, and MMA (mixed martial arts) talents, according to its website. At the 2023 MTGP Vietnam Championship, fighters will compete in 12 weight classes, including nine semi-professional weight classes and three professional weight categories. Vietnamese culture introduced at UN Bazaar International Fair 2022

The event was organised by the UN Women’s Union (UNWG) with the aim of raising money in a bid to support disadvantaged children around the world, including Vietnamese children. Titled MUSIK AUS WIEN “MOZART & STRAUSS”, the event was organised by the Austrian Embassy in Vietnam in cooperation with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).
