Photo exhibition marks 30 years of Vietnam-RoK ties

On display at the event jointly held by the Vietnam News Agency and the Yonhap News Agency are 90 photos selected from the national archives of the two news agencies. The photos introduce key milestones recorded over the past 30 years of cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, culture, and education between the two countries.

Vietnam and the Republic of Korea established diplomatic ties on December 22, 1992, and the two countries have upgraded their ties to a level of comprehensive strategic partnership. The RoK is one of Vietnam’s leading partners in terms of foreign investment, official development assistance cooperation, labour, tourism and trade.

Medial agencies of the two countries, including the Vietnam News Agency and the Yonhap News Agency, are proud to make a positive contribution to promoting cooperation between the two countries.

Addressing the event, Vu Viet Trang, director general of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), emphasised that the exhibition highlights important milestones in the Vietnam – RoK ties over the past 30 years, and at the same time demonstrates the effective cooperation relations between the Vietnam News Agency and the Yonhap News Agency.

The link between the two news agencies has also made a practical contribution to strengthening the bond of friendship and understanding between the two peoples, and bringing them closer together, she noted.

In response, Seong Ghi-Hong, chairman and CEO of Yonhap, pointed out that the outcomes of the event are anticipated to provide a fresh impetus for the development of stronger bilateral relations and effective cooperation in the future.

The exhibition is scheduled to run through to December 21.
