At the meeting on December 9, Nga noted with pleasure achievements the two countries have recorded in people-to-people exchange.

Mentioning the Vietnam-Armenia Friendship Association, established in 2014, Nga said the association has carried out multiple activities to enhance understanding and promote the friendship between the two peoples.

She recalled the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Vietnamese people, who used to study in the country, in July 2019, arranged by the VUFO and the association.

President of the association Nguyen Van Thuan said apart from cooperation between the two States, the two Governments have paid attention to people-to-people exchange, bringing their people and businesses closer.

The association has organised visits to Armenia aiming to seek new cooperative opportunities, along with activities to boost investment, trade, culture, education and tourism links between the two countries, he said.

For his part, Ambassador Kazhoyan spoke highly of cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia, and suggested the two countries foster collaboration in economy-trade, apart from the political relations.

He used the occasion to thank the VUFO and the Vietnam-Armenia Friendship Association for their contributions to promoting the bilateral relationship.

At a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi earlier, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan affirmed that Vietnam is an important and reliable partner and Armenia always attaches importance to expanding cooperation with the country.

Highlighting the good traditional friendship inherited from the Soviet era, the President expressed his strong impression of Vietnam’s miraculous economic development after more than 35 years of Doi Moi (Renewal) process as well as appreciated the role and prestige of Vietnam in the international arena.

The Armenian leader believed that the ambassador will effectively promote the friendship and cooperation between the two countries./.
