Ho Chi Minh City inaugurates spring flower markets
With Tet, Vietnam’s biggest holiday to mark the start of a Lunar year, only a week away, many flower markets and flower fairs have been set up across Ho Chi Minh City.
Three city-level flower markets are being held at Gia Dinh Park in Phu Nhuan District, Le Van Tam Park in District 3 and 23/9 Park in District 1 by the Ho Chi Minh City Greenery Parks Co. Ltd.
Also available for visitors are smaller flower markets, including those in Thu Duc City, at Binh Dien wholesale market run by Saigon Trading Group, and in District 7 organized by Phu My Hung Corporation.

These Tet flower markets will run till January 21, following their inaugurations on Saturday.
Early in the morning, as merchants displayed ornamental plants, some early risers took advantage of the opportunity to buy the plants while doing exercise.
Despite the low purchasing power, merchants are optimistic about a prosperous Tet season.

“A few days ago, as the weather suddenly turned unfavorable with repeated unseasonal rains, I was also concerned that the flowers might bloom early and die.
“The weather has fortunately improved over the past few days. I hope my business will go smoothly,” Vinh, a merchant of a flower stall at Le Van Tam Park, shared.
As a tradition, a flower festival will be held at Tao Dan Park in District 1 starting January 16, showcasing thousands of unique flowers and decorative plants.
In District 8, Binh Dong Wharf is a go-to place for people seeking flowers for the Tet holiday, with hundreds of flower varieties brought from the Mekong Delta.
